Big Picture High School students are ready to learn about the workforce, but they need your help.
Students are currently seeking internships, which serve as a part of their required studies at the project-based high school. “Some of our graduates are now working for the businesses where they had internships,” says Principal Haley Naboychik. “Some also realized they were on the wrong career path and went in another direction, which is just as important on the path to a career.”
In past years students have lent their time to State agencies, Kittitas Valley Hospital, and local farms and businesses. There is no expectation that students will be paid for their work. “This is a great way for a local business person or organization to share their expertise, while also helping students explore and plan their next steps in life.”
Ideally, students would be engaged over several weeks, if not the entire semester. Their schedules have built-in time on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to pursue their interests and passions as interns.
